newest Non-Executive Director

With a distinguished background at RBS Group and leadership roles at Coutts International and CSC, Paul joins Flagstone International with a wealth of knowledge and a deep understanding of global markets. Paul Eva, NED at Flagstone International interview:

Can you start by telling us a bit about you and your background?

I have worked in Financial Services for over three decades, primarily for RBS Group, and have enjoyed leading teams across different jurisdictions and franchises. Having worked for the Retail Bank in the UK since 1989, I moved to the Channel Islands in 2003 initially to take up a role with RBSI, before moving to Coutts International in 2008. At Coutts, I was responsible for leading the business across the Crown Dependencies and Monaco where, over a period of 13 years, I was lucky enough to meet some wonderful clients. Latterly, I was given the opportunity to lead the Private Client business for CSC’s Jersey business, a role which I undertook until August last year.

What motivated you to join Flagstone International and what excites you most about this new opportunity?

Quite simply, the potential for Flagstone’s international business to grow - the market opportunity is huge. Flagstone is the leading cash savings platform in the UK with over 600,000 customers and AUA in excess of £11bn and there is every reason to believe that this success story can be replicated internationally. The team in Jersey have already built relationships with a host of partner banks and put in place several strong distribution strategies all aimed towards providing greater choice for customers globally.

How do you envision adding value to Flagstone International in your role as Non-Executive Director?

As a Non-Executive Director at Flagstone International, my primary objective is to leverage my extensive expertise in navigating the intricacies of the market and regulatory landscape to drive the execution of the company's strategic initiatives. By asking pertinent questions and providing unbiased opinions I want to play a pivotal role in the growth of Flagstone internationally. I am looking forward to representing the brand and acting as an ambassador, utilising my extensive network to foster valuable introductions and cultivate enduring relationships that will fortify Flagstone International's position in the global marketplace.

What aspects of Flagstone International’s mission and vision resonate with you the most?

Helping to improve outcomes for customers. The company’s objective is simple - to protect and grow your cash simply. Flagstone International has created an uncomplicated way for people to obtain better returns on their cash whilst at the same time, keeping it safe. By enabling customers to choose from a wider range of deposit providers and products, returns can be improved significantly and securely. Believe it or not, the vast majority of customer deposits are still held in accounts earning 2% or less per annum and Flagstone’s aim is to reach out to these customers to provide a better alternative.
